Capital One Lounge New York JFK: Epic 24/7 “Flagship” Location Opens Soon
Capital Ones network of airport lounges is going to be expanding, with the latest lounge location opening shortly. This won’t be your run-of-the-mill lounge — quite to the contrary, Capital One is marketing this as its new ”flagship” lounge, and for good reason.

Capital One’s network of airport lounges is going to be expanding, with the latest lounge location opening shortly. This won’t be your run-of-the-mill lounge — quite to the contrary, Capital One is marketing this as its new “flagship” lounge, and for good reason.
This complements the existing Capital One Lounge Dallas (DFW), Capital One Lounge Denver (DEN), Capital One Lounge Las Vegas (LAS), Capital One Lounge Washington Dulles (IAD), plus the Capital One Landing concept, with the first location being at Washington National (DCA).
Basics of the Capital One Lounge New York JFK
On Thursday, June 19, 2025, the Capital One Lounge New York Kennedy (JFK) will be opening. The lounge will eventually be open 24/7, though will initially have more limited hours, during a soft opening period:
- From June 19 through July 2, 2025, the lounge will be open daily from 9AM until 9PM
- From July 3 through July 16, 2025, the lounge will be open daily from 6AM until 11PM
- As of July 17, 2025, the lounge will be open 24/7
The new lounge is located in JFK Terminal 4. Specifically, it’s located on the lower level of the retail hall of the terminal, just after passing through security and going down the escalator. The roughly 13,500 square foot lounge is described as the card issuer’s “flagship” lounge. Not only is it the largest lounge to date, but it also has the most amenities.
The lounge is described as “a bold tribute to NYC, leveraging design, destination-inspired food and beverage offerings, and immersive local partnerships to bring the spirit and sophistication of the city to life.”
So, what can we expect from this new lounge? The lounge’s design is marketed as being New York centric, with design elements like a Central Park-inspired dining area, a Manhattan-style bar, and over 40 original works by New York-based artists displayed throughout.
The lounge also boasts sweeping tarmac views, with additional details like a hanging glass sculpture by Brooklyn-based Shakuff Custom Lighting, serving as a central focal point for the lounge.
The lounge has signature Capital One Lounge amenities, like a grab and go food and drink selection, an in-lounge menu with options served as small plates, fully stocked shower suites, power outlets at every seat, high speed Wi-Fi, and more.
There are also lots of things that are unique to this lounge. For example, the lounge features locally sourced bites from a full-service bodega-style espresso bar with hand-rolled bagels from Ess-a-Bagel, espresso from Bean & Bean Coffee Roasters, and La Colombe cold brew.
Grab & go offerings include egg sandwiches, wraps, salads, and pastries, while a rotating small plates bar features dishes like wild arugula panzanella and Berkshire pork shank with pea risotto.
The lounge also features an exclusive cheesemonger experience. Capital One has partnered with Manhattan-based Murray’s Cheese to deliver an interactive experience, where guests can enjoy curated cheese and charcuterie boards served on handmade ceramics by Franca Ceramics. Tastings are available daily, on a first come, first served basis.
The lounge also also has NYC themed cocktails in partnership with Unfiltered Hospitality. The bar features craft cocktails, a selection of local beers and wine, non-alcoholic beverage options, and more. Highlights include a signature cocktail from Death & Co., rotating beers like the “Skyscraper IPA,” and the “Perfect Airport Beer.”
The lounge also features signature daily rituals, available via roaming trolley carts. This includes things like Italian-style shaken iced coffee in the morning, and an afternoon tea service. Since the lounge will eventually be open 24/7, there’s also a “midnight snack” ritual, serving indulgent bites around 12:30AM.

JFK Terminal 4 is becoming a credit card lounge haven
As most OMAAT readers probably know, several card issuers are developing lounge networks. In addition to Capital One Lounges, you also have Amex Centurion Lounges and Chase Sapphire Lounges. What’s pretty noteworthy is that JFK is the first airport in the world to have all three lounge networks present.
Not only that, but all three card issuers will have lounges in the same terminal. The Amex Centurion Lounge JFK was the first to open, and then we saw the opening of the Chase Sapphire Lounge JFK (which is the former Etihad Lounge).
Now, it’s not too surprising to see Terminal 4 getting the most lounges, since it’s the largest terminal at the airport, and it’s also there for the long run (as some other terminal are being redeveloped).
The continued growth of lounge networks at JFK Terminal 4 is great news. This is a terminal where Delta is the largest carrier, and historically Delta has had major lounge crowding issues. Fortunately that has also recently improved, thanks to the Delta One Lounge JFK, which is exceptional.
I just wish we saw a bit more variety in terms of which terminals got lounges, but I understand why things are playing out the way they are.
Bottom line
The Capital One Lounge network is expanding, with the opening of a lounge in New York JFK Terminal 4. The 13,500 square foot lounge features apron views, grab and go food and drinks, a coffee bar, a cheese experience, and much more. Capital One Lounges are phenomenal, so I can’t wait to check out this one, as this one sounds especially awesome. We sure are becoming spoiled for choice in JFK Terminal 4…
