Damson Idris Rules the Red Carpet in a Prada Suit, No Shirt at ‘F1’ Movie Premiere

Damson Idris stole the show Monday evening in New York City when he joined his castmates for the red carpet premiere of F1: The Movie. He rode up in a Mercedes-AMG GT 63 APXGP Edition, which the luxury automotive maker crafted just for the film. His outfit was also in focus.

The British actor wore a relaxed yet subtly cheeky look. Idris rocked a three-piece pinstripe suit by Prada comprised of a double-breasted jacket, trousers, and a vest. However, he ditched wearing a shirt, showing off just a window of his chest. Idris accessorized his ensemble, styled by Daisy Haddigan, with a yellow gold necklace from his own luxury jewelry brand Didris and shiny Chelsea boots.

"I wanted something that felt modern and sophisticated," the 33-year-old told Vogue about his look. "It was important to me to wear something that honored that. It means a lot to celebrate this night and all that I’ve built."

Idris’ Prada suit comes after his memorable Met Gala stunt, teasing the movie, which landed him on many best-dressed lists. On the first Monday in May, he stepped onto the red carpet in an F1 racing suit and Swarovski crystal-covered helmet before removing them to reveal his custom Tommy Hilfiger suit.

Fellow cast members on the carpet Monday night shone in their own right, like Brad Pitt (who brought his girlfriend Ines de Ramon, who wore a sheer dress), Jodie Comer, Javier Bardem (who wore a pin showing his support for Palestine), Lewis Hamilton (who raced the Canadian Grand Prix the day before), and more. The movie, which tells the story of a fictional driver’s return to the sport and redemption, comes to theaters June 27.
