The esports scene can get quite competitive and intense, but some organisations can’t help but lighten the mood on April Fools’ Day.

Several jokes and false alarm posts have been shared online, causing mayhem on the year’s most chaotic day. We’ve compiled a list of some of our favourites on April Fool’s Day 2025.

We would like to emphasise that any announcements below are not legitimate and are for comedic purposes only.

Razer Announces ‘Skibidi’ Headset

Gaming tech company Razer, known for outfitting some of the best peripherals for competitive gaming, announced its latest product — Razer Skibidi!

Shared on X, Razer describes it as ‘the world’s first AI-powered brain-rot translator headset,’ allowing users to finally understand Gen Z lingo — ‘no cap.’

The full specs are available on Razer’s website. With live speech-to-speech translation on the fly, you’ll finally understand why you’re teammates are saying you lack ‘rizz.’

LCK Shares Scuffed Opening Title

The 2025 LCK season is just around the corner, so tensions are quite high for both fans and participating teams. So to ease nerves, LCK published a less-than-polished opening title trailer on YouTube.

With all of the hype and none of the style, the trailer boasts scruffy drawings, ear-bleeding harmonica music, and rigid animations to boot — all to poke fun at its teams.

A less-than-stellar way to start off the 2025 LCK season, but one that will surely be made up for by intense matches and skilful plays in the upcoming League of Legends tournament.

ESL Counter-Strike Announces Controversial ‘Map Change’

The ESL account shared some important news on X regarding a significant change to its map pool.

Mirage would be removed after 12 years, and will be replaced by cache for future ESL Pro Tour tournaments, starting with IEM Melbourne 2025. The dramatic prank called it the ‘end of an era.’

Users who visit the blog post link will be treated to a cat image with the caption ‘Happy April Fool’s Day!’

NLC Offers to Acquire LTA North

NLC, set to take place in Denmark this year, made a cheeky post online surrounding a supposed deal with LTA North.

“We’re done importing your players,” NLC said on X. “We’re taking the whole region. Everything is for sale.”

It continued by saying that North America is ‘devoid of any real League of Legends talent,’ made in jest. However, it is an opinion that is gaining popularity, as Team Liquid has commented on following its performance at First Stand 2025.

Brawl Stars Introduces Esports Trading Cards

The official Brawl Stars Esports account made an announcement on April Fools’ Day, unveiling a collection of trading cards featuring top esports athletes.

These cards include well-known Brawl Stars players such as Tensai from Crazy Racoon and Bekri ‘Symantec’ Tahiri from HMBLE.

It’s a cool concept that excited several fans, but it’s nothing more than a trick by Brawl Stars developer, Supercell, on X.

Honourable Mentions

There are a lot of April Fools’ posts made — far too many to fit into this list — but there were some notable jokes made from various organisations.

The official iRacing account on X introduced the addition of Little Tikes Cozy Coupe to its service. It described how it has ‘removable floorboards, ‘durable tires and a ‘moving ignition switch.’

Some games also have April Fool events. The recent smash hit esports title Marvel Rivals announced a twerking Venom through the ‘Symbiote Boogie’ emote — available from March 31st to April 3rd.
