Gap between gable wall and attic roof. Can this be sealed?
I have recently started trying to work on the attic ventilation in my cape cod style house with a finished attic and knee walls etc. There are 3 separate “attics” that are connected by slant walls that are supposed to vent cool air from my soffits to the ridge vents in the top “attic”. I have never been up there so I checked it out and noticed that the gable walls have large gaps where I can see light and old wasp nests. These gaps are where the attic wall meets the roof. On one side the gap is almost one inch. I want to prevent wasps and bugs from getting in as well as direct the airflow to the ridge vents. Can I seal this gap with spray foam and possibly some foam board? https://ibb.co/84bd61F5 https://ibb.co/j2BpGXJ https://ibb.co/JRV4ppqd submitted by /u/leafcruncher [link] [comments]
