Gap fill on cabinet/bookshelf hinge?

Hi there! Looking for any help or suggestions on how to deal with this gap between the cabinet door and the shelf. I connected a couple of bookshelves together and covered the seam with a strip of ~1/8” birch. Should I add a strip of it to the edge of the shelf, or maybe a sort of nosing? I’m just trying to figure out a way to make the doors fit a bit better and eliminate that gap. Note that I can’t really move the hinges back any further without the door making contact and removing the paint from the birch strip once everything has been properly painted. Open to any suggestions and please forgive my messy caulking job along the birch strip - I’m still learning and have since figured that wood filler may have been a better idea there. Any help is super appreciated! submitted by /u/No-Newt4064 [link] [comments]
