Marvel Rivals Sunshine Land Shark and Weapon X Combo Bundle: What’s included, and is it worth it?

Marvel Rivals recently dropped a new combination bundle that features two new skins and other cosmetics. The Sunshine Land Shark and Weapon X combo bundle revolves around Jeff the Land Shark and Wolverine, with each hero receiving a new skin, emote, spray, MVP animation, and nameplate. 

The Sunshine Land Shark and Weapon X combo bundle is pretty much the same as the other duo bundles that NetEase Games has released since the launch of Marvel Rivals in the sense that it offers the same kinds of cosmetics for a similar price. Let’s take a closer look at what is included in the bundle and whether it is worth the price of admission. 

This new combination bundle features five brand-new cosmetics for Jeff the Land Shark and Wolverine. Jeff the Land Shark’s new skin and cosmetics are part of the “Sunshine” summer-themed Marvel Rivals cosmetics. Squirrel Girl and Rocket Raccoon have also received Sunshine skins and other cosmetics. These cosmetics have a summery vibe and depict the heroes in beach clothes with altered colour palettes and designs to reflect the summer themes. 

Wolverine’s new skin is based on the Weapon X storyline in Marvel Comics, which refers to the government research programme and facility that mutated Logan, transformed his skeleton to adamantium, and granted him his infamous claws. The two themes of Jeff and Wolverine’s skins couldn’t be more different, so it’s a bit odd that NetEase decided to bundle them as such. It wouldn’t be the first time that two completely different characters got bundled together in two very different bundles, though, so it isn’t too surprising. 

The combo bundle includes the following cosmetics for Jeff the Land Shark and Wolverine: 

The bundle costs 2,800 units, which is just under $30 in real money. Players also have the option to purchase each character’s bundle individually for a cheaper price. Jeff’s bundle costs 2,200 units, which is a little over $20, and Wolverine’s bundle is 1,600 units, around $15. Each bundle contains all five individual hero cosmetics features in the double combo bundle. 

For players who are interested in the cosmetics found in the Sunshine Land Shark and Weapon X combo bundle, it’s worth buying them together. Purchasing the bundle is cheaper than buying both individual bundles separately, although it will still cost almost $30 worth of units (if you don’t have any units saved up). 

However, it has to be said that it is an odd choice of a hero duo to put together in a bundle. There are likely to be plenty of players out there who have put a lot of hours into Wolverine and Jeff the Land Shark, but they don’t exactly gel as well as some other hero combos. 

The themes of both bundles are so different as well, so much so that it’s a little jarring. The sweet, summer cuteness of Jeff’s bundle with the dark and gritty themes of the Weapon X bundle don’t really work together. It’s a strange bundle, but it will probably still have an audience somewhere. 

The only way that the Sunshine Land Shark and Weapon X combo bundle would be worth it is if you are a big fan of both Jeff the Land Shark and Wolverine, and you like the cosmetic bundles enough to shell out money for them. If you find that you are the target audience for this bundle, then it’s definitely cheaper to buy everything together in this bundle rather than buying both bundles separately. However, if you are only interested in one hero, then the individual bundles are the way to go. If you aren’t too invested in cosmetics in general, or don’t play much Wolverine or Jeff the Land Shark, then this bundle isn’t for you. 

The Sunshine Land Shark and Weapon X combo bundle in Marvel Rivals is an odd bundle that puts sweet and cheerful Sunshine Land Shark cosmetics with the dark lore of Wolverine’s origins via the Weapon X bundle.

Players who enjoy both themes and know they will make the most out of the cosmetics are sure to appreciate this bundle, but those who would rather have one or the other would be better off buying one of the individual bundles instead.
