There’s a certain cohesion and cleanliness that comes with wearing only one color. Spring/Summer 2025 collection’s were marked by numerous designers opting for head-to-toe single color short short ensembles. In typical Dsquared2 style, their take was on the risqué side. The look featured white laced up micro shorts and a matching white moto jacket with no shortage of fringe. Zegna chose to go more minimalistic, pairing a mustard yellow button down shirt with suede shorts.

And the addition of a blazer makes it all the more polished. For Hermés, a navy brocade blazer fared well over an all black look underneath for a sophisticated night look. While Gucci opted for a matching faded navy blazer-shorts set. The pink mesh shirt underneath added an understated pop of color, while the horsebit belt tied it all together.

Perhaps the most commonly worn style of short shorts comes in the form of elevated athleisure. Sports and luxury fashion have been intertwined for a while, but short shorts have always been a staple in athletic wear. Louis Vuitton elevated a simple pair of tiny black shorts with a matching shirt. The matching set featured greenery motifs, accessorized with a scarf tie and a circular monogram bag. MSGM’s matching set featured greenery in a bolder way. The black jacket and shorts had bright streaks of green, styled with a patterned collared shirt for a balance of sport and refinement.
