Insulation R Value Question
Hello! I have a few extra bags of R21 fiberglass insulation intended for 2x6 framing, but I only have 2x4 framing left to insulate. I know fiberglass insulation is designed to not be compressed, and it will lose R-value when compressed. My question is if I compressed the R21 into 2x4 framing, would its R-value really fall below that of something intended for 2x4 framing (like R15)? Or would it just result in something in between, like an effective R18? submitted by /u/ishmel43 [link] [comments]
