The Marvel Rivals Championship for Season 2: Hellfire Gala is just around the corner, kicking off with the PC division next month.

Just like Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, the competition will be open to all players to participate, meaning both novice teams and esports organisations can compete for the lion’s share of a $14,500 (~£11,500) prize pool per region.

Here is everything you need to know about NetEase’s in-game esports event for the hit hero shooter.

What is The Format of MRC Season 2?

Earlier this year, NetEase announced MRC changes ahead of Season 2, introducing new regions in order to make server allocation easier. The PC division tournaments will run in America, EMEA, Pacific and China from June 7th to July 6th, 2025. Sign-ups for the event will begin as soon as May 10th this week.

Format begins with a Swiss System, where the top 128 teams advance to double elimination, and teams placed 129th-512th advance to closed qualifiers.

The closed qualifiers run from June 14th-15th, 2025, where each team will play a maximum of 10 matches. The top 128 teams will then proceed to Double Elimination.

The Double Elimination runs from June 21st-July 6th, 2025. The first nine rounds are best of three, then rounds 10-14 are best of five. The only exceptions are the Lower Bracket Final and Grand Final, which are both best of seven.

Which Teams are Involved in MRC Season 2?

Unlike events such as the Invitational, MRC is open invite, meaning any faction can sign up for a chance to win their respective region’s share of the $14,500 (~£11,500) prize pool.

It is likely we will see top esports teams participate, including MRC Season 1 winners such as Virtus.pro and Sentinels. But anyone can take part, so long as they gather enough players and sign up through the in-game MRC tab.

What is important to note is that there is a minimum rank requirement before entering: all players entering MRC Season 2 must be at least Platinum III.

If you’re not feeling brave enough to take on MRCD yourself, you can always watch the matches happen live. All regional matches will be broadcast on both the official Marvel Rivals YouTube and Twitch channels, as they have done so for past seasons.

By participating in the tournament, you can receive an exclusive MRC spray. However, no information has been revealed about potential drops or esports activations being available throughout the tournament for viewers.
