NAVI Junior has been promoted to the organisation’s main Dota 2 roster following its performance in the year so far, taking effect from July 1st, 2025.
This follows NAVI’s decision to disband its current Dota 2 roster, who are set to make their final appearance representing NAVI at PGL Wallachia Season 5, taking place from June 21st to 29th, 2025.
In a blog post online, NAVI wrote: “We have made the decision to disband our current Dota 2 roster. The team’s last tournament under the NAVI banner will be PGL Wallachia Season 5, which will take place from June 21st to 29th. Afterwards, the players will become free agents open to new offers.
“We would also like to highlight the success of NAVI Junior roster in a year when the guys have achieved impressive results and have substantially increased their gaming skills.”
This is the current roster set to be disbanded after PGL Wallachia Season 5:
- Artem ‘Yuragi’ Golubiev
- Philipp ‘Copy‘ Bühler
- Miroslav ‘BOOM’ Bičan
- Matthew ‘Ari‘ Walker
- Oleh ‘kaori’ Medvedok
- Milan ‘MiLAN’ Kozomara (coach)
The new roster will also be representing NAVI at future tournaments, including the upcoming Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025 and The International 2025.
As a result NAVI’s new roster will be:
- Taras ‘gotthejuice’ Linnikov
- Artem ‘Niku’ Bachkur
- Yurii ‘pma’ Prots
- Bakyt ‘W_Zayac’ Emilzhanov
- Stanislav ‘Riddys‘ Mitroshkyn
- Maxim ‘TheHeartlessKing’ Fadeev (coach)
How have NAVI and NAVI Junior Performed this Year?
In 2025, both NAVI’s main roster and NAVI Junior have experienced highs and lows in the Dota 2 esports scene. However, the organisation’s line of thinking may potentially be based on the most recent performances by the two teams.
For the Esports World Cup 2025, NAVI came second in the Eastern Europe Closed Qualifier after losing 0-3 to Cyber Goose in the grand final. On the other hand, NAVI Junior earned first place and qualification to the EWC event in Riyadh after defeating AVULUS 3-1 in the grand finals of the Western Europe Closed Qualifier.
The same polarising results can also be observed for The International 2025 qualifiers. NAVI’s main roster placed third after losing 1-2 to Cyber Goose once more, after being knocked down to the lower bracket finals by Aurora Gaming. In contrast, NAVI Junior earned third place in the Western Europe Open Qualifier #1, and placed first in the Closed Qualifier after defeating OG 2-1.
Out of the two teams, it’s no surprise that NAVI is committing to the roster that managed to qualify for two of the biggest Dota 2 esports tournaments this year. However, only time will tell if this bold shift will pay off for the organisation.
