Oracle Red Bull Sim Racing has announced the launch of its all-female sim racing team.
In partnership with e-commerce company Rokt, the initiative will provide aspiring drivers with a chance to race for the team.
According to a press release, the team will compete on the iRacing platform, where it has had its share of success. In 2020 and 2024, Oracle Red Bull Sim Racing driver Sebastian Job won the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup.
The launch of a female sim racing team builds on Red Bull’s Rokt the Rig initiative. In 2023, the two parties joined forces to host a competition for female sim racers to grow their skills and give them a chance to compete in competitions.
Rokt has been a partner of Red Bull Racing since February 2023. Alongside organising initiatives, the company’s logo has featured on the liveries and apparel used by its drivers.
Trials to become a member of the team will begin in March, with selected drivers earning training to prepare for an official race debut in the Summer. Annemarie D’Alessandro, who took part in Rokt the Rig, has already been named as a driver.
In addition to female drivers, the livery of the car will be designed by a female-led creative team. The new livery will continue to feature Rokt’s logo along with the aesthetics associated with the sim racing team.
Women In Esports Initiatives Continue
Sim racing is the latest esport to embark on all-female rosters. In recent years, the likes of VALORANT and League of Legends have operated dedicated circuits for women and marginalised genders.
“Representation is critical in sim racing, and we’re proud to work with Rokt to support female drivers and engineers,” said Julia George, Director of Partnerships at Oracle Red Bull Racing.
“With the backing of world-class coaching and training, this initiative will help open doors for more women in competitive sim racing while also creating future role models in the sport.”
