Pouring Concrete Footings - Couple questions

Installing a few concrete footings as foundation for a pergola. The footings are ~52" deep and ~12" diameter, will be using sonoform tubes. Plan is to have ~2-4 in of gravel as a base layer. Questions I had were more on process for the concrete pour: We're considering a concrete mixer - traditionally, videos ive seen pour into a wheelbarrow followed by a shovel -- is there a way for us to pour directly into the tube? It seems like it'd create a lot of mess, so curious on recommendations. I've seen rebar is necessary for these installations - what is the preferred depth to add the rebar and what should their length be? Thank you in advance. submitted by /u/Boksberger [link] [comments]

Questions I had were more on process for the concrete pour:

  1. We're considering a concrete mixer - traditionally, videos ive seen pour into a wheelbarrow followed by a shovel -- is there a way for us to pour directly into the tube? It seems like it'd create a lot of mess, so curious on recommendations.

  2. I've seen rebar is necessary for these installations - what is the preferred depth to add the rebar and what should their length be?

Thank you in advance.
