Rhude FW25 Proposes a ‘Rhudeboy’ Renaissance
For FW25, Rhude returns to its roots in a collection packed with visual references to its early days. Founded in 2015 by Manila-born and LA-raised designer Rhuigi Villaseñor, the brand's well established West Coast aesthetic finds new life as it reaches its 10th anniversary this year. Fittingly, Villaseñor has opted to name the collection "Rhudeboy" to represent the reprisal of his brand's original codes.Core brand styles including varsity jackets, biker jeans, elegant track suits and graphic jersey knits are made in weathered and washed leathers, denims and knits. Signature motifs are applied in new materials including bandana paisley sherpa fabric applied to a cozy winter set and a jacquard sweater boasting a simplified version of the brand's cigarette packaging motif. The brand's loud and proud logos rebel against discreet branding trends, placing oversized logos at the center of outerwear styles, including a patinated leather aviator jacket featuring a red word mark down the center of the zipper. Plenty looks, including a fur-hooded jacket with sagging biker jeans and Ugg-esque boots, evoke Timothee Chalamet's style during his recent promotional appearances for A Complete Unknown. A similar late-2000s/early-2010s sensibility also characterized Dsquared2's recent FW25 presentation, arguably one of the buzziest shows of the season.See the full Rhude FW25 collection in the gallery above.
