Sky High Farm Universe's "SWEET DREAMZ" Are Full of Nightmarish Characters
Today Sky High Farm Universe has unveiled the second drop of its SS25 collection aptly titled "SWEET DREAMZ." The collaborative collection with artist Eri Wakiyama introduces a cast of fantastical hand-illustrated characters including "Strawbabiez," "Shy Shroomiez," "Sleepy Shoopz," and "Dr. Red Moon" integrated into the brand's playful garments.According to Sky High Farm Universe's Instagram post, most of the garments are made with "deadstock, organic, and recycled fabrics," highlighting the brand's conscious approach to crafting their collections. Rather than painting an idyllic realm, the collection depicts a more nightmarish world with strange creatures including an especially sad strawberry, a two headed lamb and more. Sky High Farm's post expounds on the intention behind the darker visual elements, "juxtaposing opposing impulses: hopefulness and bleakness; cuteness and scariness."Wakiyama's childhood bedsheets inspire sleepwear-inspired elements including a printed thermal fabric covered in kitschy pastel animals, and a fully pinstriped PJ set with a repeating Strawbabiez print.
