Soundproofing installation advice
Hi there! I am installing some DIY soundproofing in a studio I am working on. We are planning on building on top of the existing drywall because it's not our building,. The plan is SONOPan -> 5/8 drywall -> carpet glue (in place of green glue) -> 5/8 drywall This seems to be a pretty reasonable plan. My questions are around how you attach all this to the wall and to each other. Are drywall screws to the studs + drywall adhesive enough? The information online just seems to say "attach it" lol. Some people have suggested building a wooden structure. That seems like a lot more work, and I'm concerned about adding another air gap that could produce a "triple leaf". Thanks! submitted by /u/kim_probs [link] [comments]
