Stairs - Problem or Not?
I don't know when these were built. House was built in the late 70's and we bought it two years ago. I keep looking at these and thinking "This isn't how stairs are supposed to be done." I've built basement stairs before and... nope. The question is what can I do about it? I'm pretty handy but the furnace and gas lines are right below the top step. Can't even run a stringer up the middle. Assuming I would need to rip them out and build brand new? Is this even a problem? Stairs aren't squeaky beyond what would be expected. Nothing feels "soft". Etc. submitted by /u/Compuoddity [link] [comments]
