Stud Finder is Inconsistent
I'm in a rental house and know nothing about what's inside the walls. Depending on what spot of the wall I calibrate my stud finder on, I get mixed results. For example, it will say that the edge starts and ends in different spots. Sometimes the "stud" is 5in+ across. I understand that it calibrates based on the wall thickness and then looks for increased thickness. I have a Zircon HD55 if it helps. submitted by /u/MyEggCracked123 [link] [comments]
