Stars at the 30th annual Critics Choice Awards, hosted by Chelsea Handler, stunned like Cynthia Erivo in Armani Privé and Demi Moore in Schiaparelli Couture.
While most of the fashion world may be focused on the New York Fashion Week hustle and bustle, Los Angeles hosted its 30th annual Critics Choice Awards Friday night at the Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport. (The ceremony, which was originally scheduled for January 12, was moved to February 7 due to the L.A. wildfires.) Celebrities gathered for a night of true Hollywood glamour for the latest awards season red carpet.
While the looks at the Critics Choice Awards might not be as head-turning and couture as the Grammys or the Oscars, attendees are still dressed to the nines. Cynthia Erivo stunned in an Armani Privé look from the Fall/Winter 2024 show: a glossy black croc-embossed leather gown with a plunging neckline and peplum shape, styled by Jason Bolden. Nicole Kidman wore one of those suits from Saint Laurent, endorsing the necktie for women trend. Colman Domingo wore a delectable, chocolate brown ensemble by Boss.
Who won for the best film and television of the past year, according to film critics? Anora took Best Picture; Adrien Brody won Best Actor for The Brutalist; Demi Moore won Best Actress for The Substance; and Jon M. Chu won Best Director for Wicked (starring Ariana Grande and former L'OFFICIEL cover star, Cynthia Erivo.) In television, Shogun swept, winning for Best Drama Series and its cast claiming Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Supporting Actress. Chelsea Handler hosted her third Critics Choice Awards Friday night, following successful runs at the 2023 and 2024 ceremonies.
