Stars and artists flocked to Brooklyn on Tuesday night, with celebrities bringing elegance and fashion flair to the 2025 Brooklyn Artists Ball red carpet. The fundraising event, held at the Brooklyn Museum in collaboration with Dior, was held in the museum’s Beaux-Arts Court and honored Ford Foundation President Darren Walker, a longtime supporter of the arts.

In typical New York fashion, many of the guests opted for black or neutral-toned garments rather than springtime florals and pastels. Artistry and performance reigned at the ball. Creative partner and artist Jeffrey Gibson designed the event’s décor in the Beaux-Arts Court, inspired by two of his solo exhibitions. During cocktail hour, the dance theater company Jamel Gaines Creative Outlet put on a show for attendees. Jazz phenom Laufey also graced the ball with a dinner performance, wearing a rocker-chic wool and silk jacket and a lacy white blouse and shorts by Dior. And to top it all off, hip hop legend and Brooklyn Museum trustee Swizz Beatz closed out the night with a headlining performance at the after party.

There were plenty of standout looks from the red carpet. Kerry Washington led the charge and embraced her edgy side with a skin-revealing, lacy black blouse and mesh skirt by Dior, paired with a dramatic golden necklace. Auli’i Cravalho also opted for a look from the French maison, donning an olive dress with a tulle A-line skirt and floral-embroidered bodice. Artists like Mickalene Thomas went for classic suiting.
