The best Monster Hunter Wilds mods

The best Monster Hunter Wilds mods make your job easier. Some reveal information the game hides from you, while others let you skip all the homework keeping you from doing main thing you’re here for: fighting monsters.

Most mods make item management and gear upgrades easier, saving you time farming for materials. Seasoned Monster Hunter players would probably deem it blasphemy, but hey, not everyone loves the grind.

Here are the best Monster Hunter Wilds mods. All of them are available on Nexus Mods and most only require REFramework to work. Installing them is just a matter of dragging and dropping a few files into the right spot.

Best Monster Hunter Wilds mods

Monster Hunter Wilds hasn’t been out that long and the mods are already piling up. The most popular ones do things like reveal the health bars on boss monsters, add cheap items to the shop, and remove the crafting requirements for gear upgrades. There are some mods that attempt to fix the game’s poor performance, but they seem to be hit or miss. Almost every mod requires you to have REFramework installed, and a few require Fluffy Mod Manager too.

Here are the ten best Monster Hunter Wilds mods:

  1. REFramework
  2. Fluffy Mod Manager
  3. MHWilds Overlay
  4. No Crafting Requirements
  5. Unlimited Character and Palico Edits
  6. 3x Monster Drops
  7. Infinite Consumables
  8. Auto Item Pouch Restock
  9. Item Cost Tweaks
  10. Persistent Buff Glow Removal

REFramework

Download from: Nexus Mods

REFramework is your key to unlocking Monster Hunter Wilds. Without it, most mods in this list won’t work. Thankfully, to install, all you have to do is download the .dll file and add it to your Monster Hunter Wilds folder, which is located in your C drive by default. You know you did it correctly if a small menu appears in the top left of your screen after you boot the game up. That menu is where you can change settings for the other mods you install.

Fluffy Mod Manager

Download from: Nexus Mods

Fluffy Mod Manager streamlines the mod installation process. For the ones that require it, you only have to drag their files onto the window to install them. Just remember to open the game via Fluffy Mod Manager so the mods that require it work. Download the installation files and extract the folder wherever you’d like. Run the mod manager and choose Monster Hunter Wilds as the game. Each mod you install will need to be selected and enabled so they’ll show up when you open the game.

MHWilds Overlay

Download from: Nexus Mods

The MHWilds Overlay mod leaves nothing to your imagination during a fight. Not only can you see a monster’s health bar, you can see detailed stats on how much damage you deal. Capcom hides this stuff because you can still have a good time without this stuff, but if you want to track what exactly is going on in a fight, this is the mod for you. It supposedly works during multiplayer sessions, but some of the comments on the Nexus Mods page claim it can be inaccurate.

No Crafting Requirements

Download from: Nexus Mods

The No Crafting Requirements mod is for anyone who doesn’t want to grind hunts for materials. Once you drag this mod into your Fluffy Mod Manager, you can pick which equipment types to enable free upgrades for. Then, you can visit Gemma and she’ll craft anything you want no matter what you have on you.

Unlimited Character and Palico Edits

Download from: Nexus Mods

This mod does exactly what it says on the tin: It gives you Unlimited Character and Palico Edits. Normally, those things cost money! It’s worth noting that if you have any edit vouchers, changing your appearance will still use them, but the option won’t be locked when you run out. To install it, you have to drag the “reframework” folder into your Monster Hunter Wilds folder.

3x Monster Drops

Download from: Nexus Mods

With the 3X Monster Drops mod, you’ll be showered in crafting materials after every fight. Everything you can gain from hitting a monster and from quest rewards will be multiplied. Gathering the right parts to upgrade your armor or weapon will be much easier with this. The mod’s .zip file will need to be unzipped and extracted, and then you can place the “natives” folder into your Monster Hunter Wilds location.

Infinite Consumables

Download from: Nexus Mods

The Infinite Consumable mod is pretty straightforward. Any item with a limited quantity will be unlimited, including potions and other buff items, bowgun ammo, and slinger ammo. That will save you from having to gather materials and craft everything. Installing this one requires you to drop the “reframework” file into your game folder.

Auto Item Pouch Restock

Download from: Nexus Mods

The Auto Item Pouch Restock mod saves you the hassle of restocking your item pouch every time you go out on a hunt. There are also options to have it trigger when you get a camp, start a mission, or open your Seikret’s supply box, which you can change in the ReFramework menu. Download the file and drag it straight into your Monster Hunter Wilds folder.

Item Cost Tweaks

Download from: Nexus Mods

The Item Cost Tweaks mod makes items cost 1 zenny and sell for much, much more. Basically, this is the mod that lets you ignore prices and buy items as much as you’d like. It’s a useful alternative if you’re not interested in doing a ton of crafting. To install, download the file and drag it into your Fluffy Mod Manager window, and then select it to enable it.

Persistent Buff Glow Removal

Download from: Nexus Mods

Hunters with an eye for fashion or who get distracted easily will want the Persistent Buff Glow Removal mod. Any kind of glowy buff effect on your character will be removed once you take the mod’s “reframework” file and drag it into your Monster Hunter Wilds folder. This is particularly useful for insect glaive users who hate walking around with RGB LEDs on their armor.
