What is behind my shower tile (and is it a problem)?
Recaulking the shower in my house (built in 1948, live here for a year) and found out some of the tiles were basically held on only by the caulk. Am I correct in thinking that it looks like water was getting in behind the tiles? What do you think is the backing material? It feels like kind of a thin sheet of something that peels off in some parts. I would love to know if I can just reset and grout the tiles or if there may be a bigger issue that needs to be addressed. submitted by /u/potholes4u [link] [comments]
