Doom: The Dark Ages, a prequel to id Software’s 2016 revitalization of the Doom series, is out this week on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X. Hell yeah.
The Dark Ages takes somewhat of a different approach to combat than its two predecessors, Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal. How to play Doom: The Dark Ages in early access
You can play Doom: The Dark Ages two days before its official launch by getting the premium edition of the game, which costs $100. (If you snagged the out-of-stock $200 collector’s edition, that also grants you early access.)
In addition to two days of early access, the premium edition also gives you the following:
- The Void Doom Slayer skin (shown above, pre-order only)
- Campaign DLC upon its release
- Digital artbook and OST
- The Divinity Skin Pack (one skin each for Doom Slayer, the dragon, and the mech)

Is Doom: The Dark Ages on Game Pass?
Yes, Doom: The Dark Ages will be available at launch on Xbox Game Pass, but not for all subscription tiers. It’ll only be playable on Game Pass if you’ve subscribed at the PC Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate tiers. It won’t be available at the Core or Standard tiers.
