Megan Thee Stallion’s Qipao-Inspired, Sheer Dress Is Going Viral

Megan Thee Stallion has never been one to shy away from a bold red carpet moment. Known for taking risks in high-fashion looks that toe the line between performance art and risqué, the rapper often gravitates toward designers who embrace drama and the occasional "less is more" approach, especially when it comes to fabric. Whether the former L'OFFICIEL cover star is in latex or plunging silhouettes, Megan celebrates her figure rather than hiding it. At Gold House’s 4th Annual Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday night, she did just that—this time, in a naked, see-through gown that turned heads for all the right reasons.

For the occasion, Megan wore a sheer black lace gown custom-designed by New York-based label Quine Li. Inspired by the traditional Chinese qipao—a form-fitting, one-piece Chinese dress for women—the gown featured a Mandarin collar and floral motifs. But this wasn’t your average heritage tribute—sculptural elements elevated the look at the chest and hips, along with a thigh-high slit and a completely see-through lace bodice that played up the naked dress trend while also paying homage to cultural symbolism.

Megan was honored with the One House Award at the event, which is hosted annually by nonprofit Gold House to celebrate AAPI excellence across industries, including entertainment, fashion, and tech. The rapper received the accolade for her creative partnerships and support of the Asian American community, and this look, equal parts reverent and risqué, served as a reflection of that spirit.

In an interview with CNN, designer Quine Li—a recent FIT graduate—clarified that the look was never intended as cultural appropriation, but rather a celebration. “It was a great opportunity to feel proud of Asian culture, especially in America,” she explained.

Megan echoed that sentiment during her acceptance speech, emphasizing the deeper meaning behind her presence at the event. “My respect and appreciation for the Asian Pacific culture extends far beyond music, and into other areas like fashion, cuisine, and of course anime,” she shared, underscoring her admiration for the community being honored that night.
