What time does FFXIV patch 7.2 release?

FFXIV patch 7.2 — the second major Dawntrail update — releases soon, alongside a lot of content which will be spread out through several micropatches.

That said, there’ll still be stuff to do between new story and a new raid tier right away, so don’t fret.

Below, we explain when FFXIV maintenance starts and ends, alongside the release time of patch 7.2. We’ve also added some details about what to expect from FFXIV patch 7.2.

What time does FFXIV go down for maintenance?

FFXIV will go down for maintenance on Monday, March 24 at the following times and will be unavailable for a full 24 hours:

• 3 a.m. PDT for the west coast of North America
• 6 a.m. EDT for the east coast of North America
• 10 a.m. GMT for the U.K.
• 11 a.m. CET for western Europe/Paris
• 7 p.m. JST for Japan/Tokyo
• 9 p.m. AEDT for Australia/Sydney

The Moogle Treasure Trove event for this patch will also end once the maintenance starts, so make sure you finish grinding out your tomes before then. You will be able to spend them even after patch 7.2 starts, so don’t fret too much about spending, just make sure you’re done earning them.

What time does FFXIV patch 7.2 release?

It’s repetitive because it’s literally the same times as above (just on the next day), but all being well, FFXIV’s patch 7.2 will go live on Tuesday, March 25 at the following times:

• 3 a.m. PDT for the west coast of North America
• 6 a.m. EDT for the east coast of North America
• 10 a.m. GMT for the U.K.
• 11 a.m. CET for western Europe/Paris
• 7 p.m. JST for Japan/Tokyo
• 9 p.m. AEDT for Australia/Sydney

Notably, yes, this is after weekly reset time, as it usually is. No cheesing the new weekly raid for an extra set of rewards. It is before daily reset time, so if you log on quickly after the maintenance ends, you can complete Monday’s dailies before reset occurs — if you’re hardcore about getting your dailies done.

What’s new in FFXIV patch 7.2?

As usual with these types of patches, you’ll be able to continue the main scenario quest for Dawntrail, exploring what the heck is going on in Solution Nine with what seems to be Queen Sphene.

There’ll be a new dungeon (The Underkeep) and trial (Recollection) to complete as part of the story. This patch will also bring out the second raid tier of the expansion, continuing our triumphs through the Arcadion. We’ll face off against a … disco ninja frog Viera, as well as some other fresh faces as we go through the Cruiserweight Division.

A lot of the content for this patch is actually coming later. Savage raids will unlock a week after 7.2 drops, and the upcoming crafting/gathering content “Cosmic Exploration” will come in April as part of patch 7.21.

Finally, the new relic weapon content and field operation “Occult Crescent” will drop in May as part of patch 7.25. So yes, this patch has a lot of stuff, but it’s just not all immediately available.
