BETER, a major force in fast-paced esports and sports betting content, has stepped into the integrity spotlight by joining the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) as a Tier 1 Anti-Corruption Supporter.
This partnership comes at a time when the esports industry has emphasized tackling match-fixing and betting-related corruption issues that threaten the credibility of competitions and the trust of fans.
As an official supporter, BETER will actively contribute to ESIC’s monitoring and intelligence operations, focusing on the detection and investigation of suspicious betting patterns.
The company’s ESportsBattle tournaments, which deliver over 36,000 monthly events, will now be under the watchful eye of both BETER’s in-house Integrity team and ESIC’s global network.
This dual-layer oversight is crucial: while BETER’s robust integrity ecosystem has resulted in just 0.01% of its events being flagged as suspicious in the past year, the broader industry continues to grapple with integrity issues and the ever-present risk of manipulation.
BETER’s approach goes beyond just surveillance. The company runs comprehensive educational programmes for athletes, operates a 24/7 whistleblowing platform, and partners with law enforcement and sporting bodies to ensure transparency and accountability.
These measures align closely with ESIC’s mission to disrupt and prevent all forms of cheating, match-fixing, and fraud in esports competitions.
Stephen Hanna, CEO of ESIC, highlighted BETER’s innovative, data-driven engagement: “BETER’s inclusion as an Anti-Corruption Supporter marks another important step in strengthening the global effort to ensure integrity within the esports and betting ecosystem. Their innovative approach to data-driven engagement and operational transparency makes them a valuable partner in the fight against corruption. We are pleased to welcome BETER into the ESIC network.”
For viewers and industry insiders alike, BETER’s move signals a growing trend: betting content providers are no longer content to sit on the sidelines when it comes to integrity.
As match-fixing and betting fraud continue to cast shadows, partnerships like this could be key to restoring trust and ensuring the long-term health of the industry.
