Clothes moths are invading my attic through my soffit vents!
How do I rescreen these attic vents from the outside in a cosmetically acceptable way? My house has 37 of these small 1.75 inch soffit vents and I am confident that clothes moths are invading though them into my attic. I’d like to put a much finer mesh over the outside of each vent because the inside is largely inaccessible. I know I can do this in an ugly way, but would have preferred to install a soffit vent cover with a much finer mesh inside it over each hole. My house is pretty old, and all of the soffit vents covers I’ve seen online are either smaller or larger. I’m considering using a 2 inch hole saw to expand the holes, but I’ll need to do this 37 times and I’m not in love with that solution. Alternately, I was considering buying a bunch of 1.5 inch vent covers, screening the inside of each one with a much finer mesh, and then floating them in construction sealant within the 1.75” hole. What would you guys suggest? submitted by /u/r4mmr0d [link] [comments]
