Esports Charts has revealed which of the possible BLAST.tv Austin Major Grand Finals would potentially generate the highest viewing figures.

The esports data platform has used data from previous Counter-Strike majors and viewing figures from each individual team to predict which combination of teams is most likely to deliver the event’s largest audience.

A potential final between Ukrainian esports organisation NAVI and Brazilian organisation PaiN Gaming would generate the lowest number of views, with Esports Charts predicting peak viewership between 1.1 and 1.3m viewers.

The pairing predicted to generate the second-highest peak viewership is a clash between PaiN Gaming and Team Spirit. Support from the Brazilian community, combined with the world-class talent of Danil ‘donk’ Kryshkovets, could generate figures between 1.3 and 1.6m.

The match that’s most likely to generate the most views is a match between Team Spirit and FaZe Clan. The Team Spirit finals campaign begins with a quarter-final clash against MOUZ, a team that has struggled to find form in Austin despite heading into the event as the second-best team in the world. A win over the German organisation puts Team Spirit in an excellent position to secure one of the two places in the grand final.

As a North American organisation, FaZe has the support of the hometown crowd and the pulling power of stand-in Oleksandr ‘s1mple’ Kostyljev, which often sparks an increase in viewers. Esports Charts predicts that a Major final between Team Spirit and FaZe Clan has the potential to generate 1.6 and 2m peak viewers.

A peak viewership of between 1.6 and 2 million could make the Austin Major one of the most-watched Counter-Strike events in history. The current most-watched event remains the 2021 Stockholm Major organised by PGL, which recorded 2.7m viewers in the Grand Final between NAVI and G2 Esports.

These are only predictions based on previous data, and only time will tell which two teams ultimately reach the grand finals and how many will tune in to watch. Fans can tune into the Austin Major across BLAST’s Twitch and YouTube channels.
