Hanging shelves on drywall + metal studs.
Hello! I need to hang some shelves on the back wall of a closet that has a drywall back and metal studs in each corner. I went to the hardware store to get snap toggle anchors for the metal studs, but since those were kind of pricy and I needed 20 of them, the guy suggested just using regular plastic anchors. That didn't really work as after I drilled into the stud and put in the anchor, the screws that the anchors came with were not long enough to account for the drywall thickness. Should I keep trying with these and just get longer screws? Shell out for the snap toggle anchors? Get a different kind of anchor? The shelves are 27inches long and don't need to support anything crazy heavy, just kitchen stuff. What would you do? Thank you! submitted by /u/dowhatthouwilt [link] [comments]
