Help me understand Zinnsers confusing range
Maybe its just me, but I find Zinssers range and branding really confusing, as to what they are all intended for Here's what I've managed to figure out so far, but please correct me if I'm wrong? Gardz - for chalky or unstable surfaces, creates a membrane you can then skim or paint over PeelStop - creates a membrane intended to stop paint edges flaking, but seems confusingly similar to Gardz? Drywall Pro 2-in-1 - another priming and sealing paint designed for porous surfaces like drywall. When would I use this over Gardz or Peelstop? BIN - Shellac-based primer BIN Aqua - water based primer Bulls Eye 1-2-3 - Seems to be another water based primer, how does it differ from BIN Aqua? Cover Stain - oil based primer, stainkiller, sealer. AllCoat Exterior Satin - Oil based, bills itself as an exterior paint and primer, but seems to be more commonly used for interior trim? Isnt this what CoverStain was for? submitted by /u/pease_pudding [link] [comments]
