Hideo Kojima Reveals ‘Death Stranding 2’ Release Date in New Dramatic Trailer

Hideo Kojima has unveiled the official trailer for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, the direct sequel to 2019’s Death Stranding. First showcased at PlayStation’s special panel at SXSW on Sunday, the 10-minute-long trailer not only previews the highly-anticipated game’s premise, breathtaking visuals as well as new characters and threats, but also confirms its official release date.Continuing the theme of "connections," players will embark on a new journey in unknown territory, exploring beyond human connection in another genre-defying experience from the legendary game creator. Also previewed in the trailer is “To The Wilder” by Woodkid, a new song that will serve as an anthemic accompaniment to the highly anticipated sequel.Priced at $230 USD, the Collector’s Edition includes the full digital game with 48-hour early access. It comes with a collector’s box, a 15-inch Magellan Man statue, a 3-inch Dollman figurine, art cards, a letter from Hideo Kojima and various in-game items. Similarly, the Digital Deluxe Edition also includes the full game with early access alongside several in-game items for $80 USD.Meanwhile, the Digital Standard Edition will retail for $70 USD. All pre-orders will also receive additional bonuses such as a Quokka Hologram and silver versions of the Battle Skeleton, Boost Skeleton and Bokka Skeleton.Pre-orders will open on March 17, 10 a.m. local time.
