How to Frame/Drywall around support beam

Making my first attempt at drywalling the unfinished basement walls. Previous owners had insulation already installed into the framing behind the finished area of the basement. The support beam on the left sticks out about 3/4 inch from the frame work, so I stopped my drywall leaving 1/2 inch of the stud to the left. The beam has a stud directly to its right (behind insulation), the frame studs are 14” apart. What would be the best way to hide this pole considering the back of it is already nearly touching the finished area’s drywall? I feel my options are to add some framing around it followed by drywall/plywood, column/jack post covers, or 2x6 with fasteners. Also, for the ductwork to the right…which is forced air into the basement bathroom. Thanks! submitted by /u/rtegethoff12 [link] [comments]
