Ideas for a dog run?

I'm getting a dog for my kids, and looking for a place for the dog to go potty in the backyard. I have this empty area that I've been neglecting for a couple of years that I think will be perfect. I have this drain just to the side of my turf that has been blocked. I just dug it out and cleaned the pipe of debris. But I want to make sure the dog area drains into this pipe and doesn't erode the base of the curb for the turf. Any ideas for how to improve this area for a dog run?
