The Legends of the Americas (LTA) North Split 2 saw a minor decrease in peak viewership compared to the first split.
According to data company Esports Charts, the LTA North Split 2 peaked at 146,727 viewers during the upper bracket series between Cloud9 and FlyQuest, a few thousand less than the peak in the previous split (149,876).
Interestingly enough, the most-watched series wasn’t the Grand Final rematch between the two teams, which saw an incredibly close series come down to a single backdoor. Despite that, the final only registered 124,752 people, only the fourth-highest among the matches played this split
The average viewership for the LTA North Conference suffered a similar trend to the League of Legends EMEA Championship, going down from 89,217 to 76,795, a decrease of 14%.
Viewership Drops Compared to LCS Spring Split 2024
While several matches during the LTA North Split 2 playoffs went past the 100,000 mark, the viewership numbers for the North American scene have not improved following the attempted LTA rebrand. When compared to the LCS Spring Split 2024, the peak viewership lost nearly 100,000 viewers.
The numbers recorded in the second split are the lowest among all major regions, and average viewership has even dipped below the LCP, which instead has benefited from the merger.
The League of Legends Championship of the Americas (LTA) was announced last year as part of Riot’s restructuring of the competitive LoL ecosystem in the Americas. The LTA is divided into two conferences, with both leagues featuring partner teams and guest slots, who will have to defend their place in the league through the relegation tournament against the top teams from the tier-two scene.
With the win over Cloud9, FlyQuest will be the LTA North representative heading to Vancouver, Canada, for the upcoming Mid-Season Invitational, which is set to kick off on June 27th.
