Recommendations for Fire Retardant Varnish or Clear Coat

I just finished building and painting some play houses that are going to be used in a commercial business. The city codes person has come back and stated that the play structures needed to have fire retardant treated wood. This is something that was discussed with codes before they were built and this is JUST NOW coming up as a requirement when we're ready to have it inspected. Everything I've seen online is for application to raw wood. I already painted these and was trying to see if there was a way to add a coating on top of what's already been built and painted. If there's not anything like this available, I may need to buy the fire retardant paint and repaint everything. Anyone have an issue like this? What's the best way to rectify? submitted by /u/justlurking2020 [link] [comments]
