Repainting cabinet handles, rather than throwing them away.. prep and paint?

I've got about 150 ( I think they are brass) cabinet handles and hinges, and am considering painting them satin black, rather than tossing the whole lot out.. you all should be proud of my resourcefulness! So I tested a few out, using Krud Kutter to clean them, and then painted with a Rust-Oleum primer/spray paint (this one). The look pretty nice.. However, I'm sure there's better prep methods. I've read a few articels here and there about it. What would you all recommend for preparation and then a paint? I see that there are other spray paints and primers like the Rust-Oleum Automotive primer as well. Thanks. submitted by /u/Bfaubion [link] [comments]
