Ideas for dealing with hideous painted tile
I’ve had my condo for four years and have made everything else exactly how I want it, but don’t know what to do about this bathroom. I don’t have a budget to do anything except a cosmetic update. The tile was painted when I moved in and I tried scraping it- doesn’t seem like it’s going anywhere without a lot of effort. But I HATE the blue speckles. I’ve done a lot of DIY and can paint the cabinets, replace the hardware, I’d even be ok with laying peel and stick on the floor (see 4 different styles of tile in like a 2x2 space). But I just don’t know how to make much work with the tile. Probably complicated by the fact that I don’t like blue. So at this point, do I paint over paint? It doesn’t feel worth it to put peel and stick over it given that it’s not great and there is a lot of square footage to cover (shower is floor to ceiling tile and the rest of the room is about 4.5 feet tiled. I’d even take the OG 90s powder blue tile under the paint at this point, I could work with vintage, but I’m afraid of how hard it would be to remove the paint. Please tell me what to do. submitted by /u/CarizzleyBear [link] [comments]
