Risks of ripping up carpet from 70s
My house was built in the early 70s and I want to install new floors in one room. When I pulled back the carpet I found it was laid over really old carpet that looks original. I pulled a corner of it up and it looks like it has a rubber backing that is glued down. I was planning on getting a respirator and sealing off the room with plastic sheets over the door. But I wanted to check and see if anyone is aware of any issues with ripping up carpet this old. Where the previous owners just lazy or is there concerns with removing carpet this old? submitted by /u/Hactar42 [link] [comments]
