Sandblasting to prep under side of patio roof?
I've had my house 5 years now and the paint that was freshly put on by the previous owner (I'm guessing to prep to sell) is starting to peel a bit in the AZ heat. I was up there with a scraper yesterday but the patio is HUGE... At least 400 Sq ft. I also got a new roof last year and they added a lip over the existing fascia, so I want to paint the trim as well which includes the underside of the eaves. So tons of Sq ft. I have friends with large compressors I could borrow. Is renting/buying the set up to add to the compressor needed to sandblasting this worth it? Is there a huge learning curve I'm not thinking of? Any other options/ideas for this large of a prep area other than sandblasting? Also, my house is brick so doing the eaves may hit some of the brick at the very top. Would this damage it? Any insight would be helpful. I've done some reading, but haven't found much about prepping wood and not paint on metal. submitted by /u/il0vej0ey [link] [comments]
