Team Falcons has announced it has moved Emil ‘Magisk’ Reif to the bench following a disappointing BLAST.tv Austin Major run.
After reportedly striking a deal with 17-year-old Maxim ‘kyousuke’ Lukin from Team Spirit in May, Team Falcons confirmed the young prospect as Magisk’s replacement shortly after his benching.
Magisk joined Team Falcons in December 2023 after a successful run representing Team Vitality, achieving victory at PGL Bucharest in April 2025 and two second-place finishes at BLAST Rivals Spring and IEM Melbourne.
The move to the bench follows the team’s struggles at the Austin Major, where Team Falcons managed to win one match during Stage 2 of the event. As a result, the team missed out on any chance of earning a place at the Playoffs.
“Today, we announce that Emil ‘Magisk’ Reif is being moved to the bench,” said Team Falcons on X. “Magisk has been with our roster for almost two years. He has brought many memorable moments and helped us win our first CS2 trophy in Bucharest.
“He was also crucial to making the finals of IEM Melbourne, PGL Cluj-Napoca, and BLAST Rivals S1. We thank him for his dedication to the team as we seek a new path after this offseason.”
Magisk Replaced By Kyousuke
Having caught the attention of many during his time as part of Team Spirit’s academy roster, Kyousuke is set to make his debut when Team Falcons competes at IEM Cologne. The event is taking place from July 23rd to August 3rd, 2025.
Prior to the Major, Team Falcons was regarded as one of the teams capable of contending with Team Vitality and bringing an end to the French organisation’s incredible run of form.
With Kyousuke on the team, it will be interesting to see if Team Falcons can spread its wings and fly to the top of the international Counter-Strike 2 scene.
