Celebrities made sure that in order get the best view of the Met Gala red carpet, you'll have to look real close.

Gowns and suits tend to dominate the conversation surrounding the Met Gala, which is only natural, as the clothes are the focus. But, on a night with looks so well-thought out and intricate, beauty also usually tells its own story. Such was true Monday night at the 2025 Met Gala, which celebrated Black dandyism through its theme. The dress code, which revolved around tailored fashion, meant many wore suits. On the beauty side, guests got uber creative with hair, nails, makeup, and more.
Some stars opted for dramatic manicures. Wicked actor Cynthia Erivo, wearing custom Givenchy, led the charge here. She is, after all, known for her longer-than-life stiletto nails, as featured in L'OFFICIEL's May 2025 issue. For the Met Gala, Erivo rocked a white, red and black manicure with oversized jewels, à la junk nail, by artist Mycah Dior. Meanwhile, Saturday Night Live cast member Ego Nwodim went with shorter black nails, decorated with colored buttons to match the ones on the cuffs of her Christopher John Rogers look, styled by Solange Franklin.
Other celebrities showed out with elaborate hair and makeup. Doechii the self-proclaimed Don and Met Gala newcomer extended the logomania of her white Louis Vuitton ensemble to her face, stamping the brand’s signature "LV" on her cheek. Gala co-chair and fashion killa A$AP Rocky’s elaborate cornrows, along with his subtle diamond tooth gems, was the centerpiece of his look. Rapper Megan thee Stallion channeled Hollywood legend Josephine Baker with a voluminous high ponytail bedecked with jewels.
