The Mercedes-AMG E 53 HYBRID Wagon Makes Its Way to the U.S.

Mercedes-Benz USA has announced the debut of the 2026 Mercedes-AMG E 53 HYBRID Wagon — the brand’s first performance hybrid wagon to be offered in the U.S.Under the hood, the AMG E 53 HYBRID Wagon features a 3L turbocharged inline-six engine paired with a 161-hp electric motor integrated into a 9-speed transmission. Together, the system produces 577 hp in standard configuration and up to 604 hp with the optional RACE START function, allowing the wagon to sprint from 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds. All-wheel drive, active rear-axle steering and adaptive AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension come standard.As a plug-in hybrid, the wagon also supports fully electric driving at speeds up to 87 mph, thanks to its 28.6-kWh battery, of which 21.2 kWh is usable for daily driving. The rest is reserved for an instant electric boost during high-performance driving.Buyers can customize performance with the optional AMG DYNAMIC PLUS Package, which adds a 174-mph top speed, high-performance brakes, active engine mounts and more. Exterior options include 12 paint colors, multiple AMG styling packages and wheels up to 21 inches. Inside, a wide array of upholstery choices, optional AMG Performance Seats and the MBUX Superscreen Package create a tech-forward cabin — with a Burmester 4D Surround Sound System coming standard.An exclusive "Edition 1" model will also be offered, featuring Alpine Grey paint, special graphics and a fully loaded spec with unique interior treatments.Details on price and availability have yet to be revealed at the time of writing, however, the model is expected to arrive at U.S. dealerships later in 2025.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
