Tiny House Anchors

Hi all, I have a tiny house on wheels that I've now been in for a couple of years. It's something I'll be in for a few years more while I save for a permanent building. Attached are my (very) rough sketches of how I'm thinking about anchoring my house to somewhat help give some piece-of-mind during storms. I live in New Zealand so don't expect too many cyclones to pass through The house is being kept off the ground by 10x 0.5m3 concrete plinths that I poured. Between the plinths and the trailer (red outline) are cribbing blocks that I made from sections of 2x4. The attached photo is not mine but gives an idea of my setup I'm thinking of using drop-in concrete anchors and eye bolts to then attach to the trailer with shackles and turnbuckles. With how I plan to set this up, I feel that wind would be causing more of a tension force on the concrete anchor than a shear force. Is this going to be a good idea? I don't believe it'll be bomb-proof but I just want something in place to allow me to worry a bit less. If you can understand my sketches and what I'm trying to achieve, I'd appreciated any advice. submitted by /u/Bamheed [link] [comments]

Tiny House Anchors

Hi all,

I have a tiny house on wheels that I've now been in for a couple of years. It's something I'll be in for a few years more while I save for a permanent building.

Attached are my (very) rough sketches of how I'm thinking about anchoring my house to somewhat help give some piece-of-mind during storms. I live in New Zealand so don't expect too many cyclones to pass through

The house is being kept off the ground by 10x 0.5m3 concrete plinths that I poured. Between the plinths and the trailer (red outline) are cribbing blocks that I made from sections of 2x4. The attached photo is not mine but gives an idea of my setup

I'm thinking of using drop-in concrete anchors and eye bolts to then attach to the trailer with shackles and turnbuckles.
