You can buy dynamite from some general stores located inside forts. Then, just place a dynamite close to a vault door, step away, and shoot it to open up a way inside. Bank zombies have a black hat and they drop the code needed to open a bank vault As for the vault code, first, you have to find and kill a zombie wearing a black hat. Pick up the code the zombie drops and go to a nearby bank. On the vault itself, you will notice a rotating mechanism with a number on each of its handles. Without anything equipped, hold M1 and rotate the handles until the first number on the paper aligns with the top part of the vault. Then, just repeat the same process for other numbers as well. You can practice opening vaults while in the main lobby of Dead Rails without spending any bonds. Just go to the bank in the lobby and spin the vault mechanism to get familiar with it. Bonds inside the Castle at the 40km Mark Getting the bonds from inside the Dead Rails castle, which spawns next to the fort at the 40km mark of the railway, can be very difficult.
