Gaming chair brand Vertagear has announced a significant collaboration with German car manufacturer Audi.
The collaboration will see Vertagear launch a new chair collection featuring Audi’s branding across three different models, the SL3800 Audi Edition, SL5800 RS Edition, and PL4800 Audi Sport Edition.
Developed through a licensing partnership with Beanstalk – Audi’s exclusive licensing agency, all chairs in the collection have been engineered using Vertagear’s patented ergonomic innovations. This includes lumbar support, waterfall seat design with air-cushioning technology and coffee ground nanotechnology for quick dry and odour control.
The chairs will come at a price point of $499 (~£372.20) for the SL3800 Audi Edition, $599 (~£446.8) for the SL 5800 RS and $699 (~£521.4) for the PL4800 Audi Sport Edition. All three models are currently available for pre-order on Vertagear’s website and will be fully available in July.
Vertagear and Audi’s Experience in Esports
Founded in 2015 and based in City of Industry, California, Vertagear used to partner with several esports organisations in the past years, including Method, Misfits Gaming, Virtus Pro, Spacestation Gaming, Splyce and TeamSoloMid (TSM). The company also sponsored the Esports Championship Series (ECS) for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive back in 2017 and partnered with teams in the NBA 2k League, such as HEAT Check Gaming.
Audi, on the other hand, used to be quite active in the esports space back in 2017 and in 2018, sponsoring several esports teams such as Astralis and FOKUS CLAN.
Audi was also a partner for Riot Games’ Belgian League in 2020 and sponsored Chinese organisation Top Esports at the League of Legends World Championship that same year through the joint venture FAW-Audi, appearing on the team’s jersey.
One of the latest sponsorships by the car brand was made with Brazilian esports team Imperial ahead of the IEM Rio Major back in 2022, using three Audi cars for marketing activations.
