Surprisingly, even manhwa readers won't be able to answer this question, as it is still to be revealed in the comics. It is, however, explained in the web novel. Hae-In's disappearance could be traced back to the moment when Jinwoo and Hae-In flew on Kaisel's back, sentimentally celebrating their 16th anniversary. Their sweet moment of affection was interrupted when Jinwoo had to deal with the dimensional rift that appeared in the sky. Hae-In, on the other hand, was supposed to head home, but things didn't go as planned. Another dimensional rift appeared in front of Hae-In, then Kaisel and Hae-In flew into it. The two then end up trapped in the said rift for years. Since Jinwoo was stuck fending off the Itarims' forces, he was unaware of his wife's unfortunate fate. It would eventually be Suho's responsibility to rescue his mother. The good news, however, is that both Hae-In and Kaisel survived the ordeal. Suho eventually reunites with the two when a gate connecting Hae-In's location to Ireland opens. Sensing his mother's presence, Suho naturally went to meet her.
