Advice for installing door on side of deck
I’m thinking of installing a door at the side of my deck so we can use the space below for storage, but I’ve got no experience of completing DIY at this level. My idea was to remove some of the planks, screw on a crossbeam to connect them, then reattach this piece to the deck with hinges. I haven’t decided whether connecting the hinges horizontally or vertically would be more suitable for what we’re after. Am I being naive about the feasibility of this job or is there anything I am overlooking? Any recommendations for tools or other points to consider would be really appreciated.
