Battery Sump Pump Install Help

Hi - last year after moving in, I upgraded the builder provided sump pump that was nearing almost 11 years considering any heavy rain fall we get it runs every couple of mins, and didn't want it randomly dieing out like some neighbour's had. This year I was planning on adding a battery backup sump pump system to the existing discharge line but hoping to get some advice on the best connection here (using same discharge pipe). I currently have a zoeller m53 as main pump. The lines are all ABS from what i can gather. I was looking at something like this https://www.amazon.ca/PumpSpy-Dual-Pump-Install-Kit/dp/B0752TKTNF/ref=asc_df_B0752TKTNF?mcid=ebd0fd6920183ea490b4f226eb90a57d&tag=googlemobshop-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=706828429892&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2781990119092648976&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9215860&hvtargid=pla-597903104084&psc=1&gad_source=1 Which can allow me to connect the secondary battery sump pump with the main at bottom. However it appears to be PVC piping. It also comes with 2 check valves for the two pumps at bottom after being added. Seeing my existing setup (see pic), I'm assuming I'd have to get rid of the existing check valve near top since it will be redundant and id have 3 after adding that. So question is, after I add this dual system how would I go best about connecting the pvc to abs vertically up and also how would I go best about closing that existing check valve gap between the 2 abs pipes? Would couplers work? New to this so if you can post any specific product links that'd be great. Thanks!!! submitted by /u/kielbasa-Impreza [link] [comments]
