Tahiti is home to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches and overwater bungalows, but its relatively remote location can make getting there expensive. This is especially true for parents who are paying for themselves and their children (unless your kids have been saving all their allowance money, I suppose).
Air Tahiti Nui, the primary international airline servicing French Polynesia, has a new promotion that can help families turn their Tahitian vacation dreams into reality.
With Air Tahiti Nui’s “Family Fare,” you can fly from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) or Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) to Tahiti’s Faaa International Airport (PPT) and only pay the taxes on up to two tickets for children (up to age 11) with the purchase of two round-trip economy tickets.
You can only book this deal by calling the airline or your travel adviser directly.
Fares for a round-trip flight between LAX and PPT start at $1,280 per person, including taxes. If you are traveling with two adults and two children, you could save thousands by booking Air Tahiti Nui’s Family Fare deal. It almost goes without saying (though we are saying it anyway) that this is a significant deal.
You must book and travel by Dec. 31, and you must make your full round-trip booking at least 24 days before departure. Changes are permitted for a $100 fee if you rebook in the same class, or you can pay the fee plus the fare difference to rebook in a different class. If you choose to cancel, there is a $250 cancellation fee.
In addition to this limited-time offer, families can enjoy perks like one complimentary checked bag, onboard meals and drinks, amenity kits, pillows, blankets, and activity kits for kids when they fly Air Tahiti Nui.
To maximize your purchase, be sure to use a credit card that earns bonus points on airfare purchases, such as:
- American Express® Gold Card: Earn 3 points per dollar spent on airfare when booked directly with the airline or through amextravel.com.
- The Platinum Card® from American Express: Earn 5 points per dollar spent on airfare when booked directly with the airline or through American Express Travel (on up to $500,000 of these purchases per calendar year, then 1 point per dollar).
- Chase Sapphire Reserve® (see rates and fees): Earn 3 points per dollar spent on airfare.
- Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card (see rates and fees): Earn 2 points per dollar spent on travel.
And if you’re wondering where to stay once you arrive in Tahiti, TPG recently shared reviews of the Hilton Hotel Tahiti. Or you can hop over to the new Westin Bora Bora, which is just another hour-long flight away from Tahiti.
If you’ve been dreaming of running through the sand and swimming in crystal-clear water with your kids (or lounging in a beach chair with a frosty drink while the kids run and swim), Air Tahiti Nui’s Family Fare just made it a lot more budget-friendly.
