Everything to Know About 'Dying for Sex' With Jenny Slate, Michelle Williams

Michelle Williams and Jenny Slate are teaming up to tell a true story in their new drama series, Dying for Sex, on Hulu.

Adapted from a podcast of the same name, the TV show will tell the story of Molly Kochan, portrayed by Williams, whose life took a drastic turn after she received a Stage IV terminal breast cancer diagnosis and decided to leave her husband of 15 years in the pursuit of (sexual) happiness. Joined and supported by her best friend Nikki Boyer (played by Slate), Kochan embarks on a journey of self-discovery, including exploring her sexuality and chasing her first orgasm. All episodes will hit streaming on April 4.

Boyer, who also serves as the show's executive producer, documented Kochan's sexcapades before her passing in 2019. She released the podcast a year after her best friend passed. (The six-part podcast became a hit and, according to the New York Post, has been downloaded five million times since its release.)

The eight-episode series begins with Kochan receiving her terminal cancer diagnosis after she had undergone chemotherapy and other life-saving treatments in 2015. She wanted to live life fully and decided to leave her husband Steve of 15 years. In the trailer, Kochan reveals that she'd never had an orgasm and is determined to experience sexual pleasure in the time she has left.

Joining the two lead actors are cast members Jay Duplass, who portrays Molly's husband Steve, Kelvin Yu, David Rasche, Sissy Spacek, Esco Jouléy, and Rob Delaney. Saturday Night Live's Marcello Hernandez, Margaret Cho, Paula Pell, and Robby Hoffman are set to guest star in the dramedy series written and co-created by Kim Rosenstock and Elizabeth Meriwether. (The duo worked together on New Girl, too.)
