I think i need to reinforce this board that the porch swing is bolted to.
Its bolted to a 9 1/2 x 1 3/4 board and I was going to use the 4x4 pictured to put a brace above both chains, between the boards on both sides for extra support (i have 5 kids, all 16 and under and want to kid proof it as best as possible) should I cut them straight and wedge them in between, plus secure them with deck screws, or should I cut them at an angle like 45deg bracing and then secure them with deck screws?
